IMAP
IMAP stands for Internet Message Access Protocol
IMAP mail is server-based mail; your mail is saved on the server and is NOT downloaded to your computer
Examples: Hotmail.com, yahoo.com, etc.
POP mail
POP mail stands for Pop-Office Protocol
POP mail downloads to your computer; the downloaded mail can be accessed even when not online
POP mail is usually the mailbox connected to your browser that is provided by your ISP (Internet Service Provider)
