Research Tree Characteristics

1. The identity of a tree can be determined by using characteristics of the tree such as leaves, bark, fruit / nuts, etc.  Use a blank KWL sheet to list what you know about the characteristics that describe a tree. 

2. Share your ideas with the class during the discussion time to generate a group knowledge bank and questions to answer.

3. Review the web pages below to generate a list of characteristics that can be used to identify a tree and to answer the group questions.

4. Share the characteristics and answers to questions with the group during the discussion time.
