In Dogsong by Gary Paulsen, Russel leaves home and loses all contact with his father.  Pretend that you are Russel and that you have just found Nancy, the nearly frozen girl-woman, on your journey across the tundra.  Write a letter to your father in which you express your concerns and your hopes for the future.  Also, share with your father some of the things you have learned since your departure.
