Why We Celebrate |

| It took us a long time for us to get this holiday, and I am glad that we celebrate it. We all celebrate Martin Luther King's Day because it is apart of all of our history. This holiday just isn't for the blacks; it's for everyone. It was a struggle for all. There were white people who helped fight for black rights and freedom. It's not a color issue, it's about being one. So instead of us taking this day for granted and doing nothing. We need to take time and learn the next generation about our history. Let them know the importance of the holiday. Give them knowledge. Dr. Martin Luther King had a dream that we would one day come together and be one. And when little black and white boys and girls would come together and be one. I think that Martin Luther King's dream is coming true. We're not all the way there, but we are making progress. So in order for us to continue to celebrate this holiday and not just treat it like any other day, we need to keep Martin Luther King's Dream alive!!! |
